ACFW Conference Prayer – For the Paid Critiquers as they work on Submissions
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17–Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
Thank you for the opportunity to make a difference in writer’s lives. We pray for the critiquers as they review and make suggestions. We pray that you will guide their words. May they be edifying, helpful and constructive. We ask for a blessing over the work they touch, that it will go out to where it is needed and make an impact for your Kingdom. Bless each writer whose words are considered today. Amen.

God told me to write this, and it can’t be changed.
And the agents and editors roll their eyes.
I pray for the critiquers,
that they might be kind.
I’d offer beer in beakers,
for access to their minds.
I don’t know how it possibly is
that they don’t get what I meant;
red ink says that I’m remiss
in what was heaven-sent.
See, God inspired the perfect tale
and He says, “Don’t change a word!”
This holy office MUST prevail,
for a miracle has occurred!
They say I’m not worthy of selection;
but how can THEY critique perfection?
