40 Days of Prayer – Day 40

Pam MeyersUncategorized Leave a Comment

Starting today and counting down each day to Conference registration, we will post a prayer here for the Conference; its preparations, the people involved, every aspect of the event. We owe a big thanks to Sally Bradley for coordinating this by collecting prayers written by ACFW members and assimilating them into the 40-day format. Sally, or someone else when she is off line, will be posting the daily prayer on the loop.

Today begins with the first prayer.

Ps. 127:1–Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.

Dearest Lord,
We thank you for this time of conference. Thank you for all who’ve prepared the way for us, physically, spiritually, and financially. Thank you for getting each one of us to the very place we are right at this moment.

Lord, help us to remember to keep our eyes focused on You in the coming weeks – what You would have us do, what You would have us say, and whom You would have us meet during conference. Help us to realize that a writing career doesn’t happen overnight, and that one conference will not make or break us. Keep reminding us that as long as we are working for YOU, Lord, we do not labor in vain, even if contracts and contacts are difficult to achieve. You, O Lord, are in charge of our career, of our lives, and we thank You for building both, in Your time, to Your glory. We thank You for the journey we’re on, and for the people we meet along the way.

Pour Your Spirit over the conference in Dallas, Lord. Anoint those in attendance, and strengthen each one of us for your work. Use us as individuals to be an encouragement to one another, and as a group of sisters and brothers in Christ to be an encouragement to the world.
Thank you for building this organization over the years through godly women and men seeking Your will in all they do. May they continue to lead us to seek Your face, so that others might see Jesus in our writings, in our lives, in our faces.
We love You and praise You, Lord, and we give You all the glory for the great things that will happen at conference this year.

In Jesus’ precious name we pray,
Amen.
