I Wanna Hold Your Hand

The calendar page flipped this weekend and we’re now down to hours ’til conference liftoff. People are running themselves ragged shopping, dieting, packing, …oh wait…maybe some are writing, preparing one-sheets, elevator pitches and polishing the proposals. After all this is a writers’ conference. The premier Christian writers’ conference at that. As a conference vet, a board member, and a Texan, I want to welcome you to Dallas.

The weekend will be an exciting time for most of us, but for some it’s just plain old scary. Daunting. Overwhelming. Taxing….okay, enough adjectives. If you’ve read other posts you know to rest and find time for yourselves. That’s super important. But you must find rest for your spirit too. The prayers written for this event have poured out a desire to see you succeed. Reach for that success by realizing Jesus walks alongside you.

Duck into our prayer room and arm yourself with a fortifying breath of peace found in His presence. For He does wanna hold your hand. He’ll walk with you into every appointment, every classroom and every meal. He hears that rat-a-tat heartbeat and can calm your anxious thoughts. He will rejoice with you and pour His balm on the sting of rejection. Nothing you will experience at the ACFW conference surprises our God. So reach out and feel His handclasp.

Look forward to huggin’ y’all when I can.
