Forty Days of Prayer: Day 1

Danica Favorite-McDonald Conference Leave a Comment

Please join us in today’s prayer, written by a member of ACFW’s Forty Days of Prayer team.

That God’s will be accomplished at the conference

Ephesians 6:8–With all prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit. And with this in view be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.

Our precious Lord and Heavenly Father, as we move forward, toward the conference and in our lives, help us to remember to keep our eyes and hearts on You. Give us an overwhelming hunger to draw closer to You. Make us ever mindful of Your plan and the desires You have for Your people.

Remind us that even though we don’t know the outcome of this plan, You do. You’ve laid it out since time eternal. You are aware of this conference. You know whose lives will intersect and what doors will be opened and closed. You are aware of those people who, for whatever reason, were unable to make it to Indiana and the people whose lives they will affect for You.

You’ve asked us to be ready in season and out to stand for You. You’ve asked us to continue in prayer and petition for the saints– for every writer, agent, editor, spouse, worker at the hotel, driver… Some will feel insignificant and inadequate for the task, but remind us that You are the strength we need and no matter what arena of life we find ourselves in, we are here for far more than a conference. We were chosen for such a time as this, for a greater purpose than even we can understand.

Help us to seek Your wisdom and favor. Make us a people after Your own heart. Prepare us to use our words, our prayers and lives as instruments of Your grace. Humble us before You. Position us to encourage, to comfort, to exhort if necessary. Remind us to lift our brothers and sisters before You in prayer, and use those prayers to undergird and strengthen according to Your will. Pour out Your Spirit in the lives of Your children and use this conference and every aspect of our lives to Your glory.

We ask all these things in Your precious and holy name, amen
