Blind Date a Book(Required)

Blind Date a Book is a fun and unique aspect of the bookstore that readers love. Authors are able to participate by selecting one of your titles and providing a list of story elements (ex. meet cute, second chance romance, etc) for that title. The bookstore staff will wrap your book in brown paper and include the tropes on the front of the package. The goal is to remove the “don’t judge a book by its cover” idea and help readers find new authors.

Tropes for YOUR Title

Didn't find what any tropes that fit your story in the list above?

Tropes are VERY short catchphrases for the story elements readers in your genre crave. They’re the labels on those book-cover ad memes with twisty arrows—grumpy/sunshine, save the inheritance, small town, ticking clock, sarcastic dragons, tear-jerker, ancient curses, 1920s flapper meets prohibitionist, etc. (List 5-10 tropes, each on its own line. Press Enter after each phrase).

These custom tropes may be used for Blind Date with a Book and pre-conference promotion as time allows.
