Let’s ask ourselves what the holidays mean for authors: book sales, contracts, a
wonderful endorsement of their book?
I guess it doesn’t take a genius for us to want all three, right? But what can readers (and
other authors) do to help all of these dreams come true?
The rest of us can get behind those we care about. We can post about our friends’ books online. New releases, cover reveals, links to authors’ blog posts, reviews of their books. None of these cost us a cent (which, let’s face it, isn’t worth anything anymore even if we could find one).
While these acts are free, they mean the whole world to an author. Anytime a good word goes out about a book, it opens the door to sales for that author.
So, I can see why readers might do this, but why should authors do this for author friends? Once your own book releases, you’ll have a ready-made launch team in place to help you the same way. What you reap, you sow.
It’s Christmas! Be kind. Buy books as gifts. And even when you can’t, help your favorite
authors by promoting their new releases.
Merry Christmas, All. To you and your families!
Linda Glaz understands authors because she is one. Speaking about books at conferences, she’s always looking for that next great, best-selling novel. She handles nonfiction and fiction in both the Christian and General markets (clean reads only). She loves suspense, historicals, and romance. No spec or children’s (including no YA), please!

I’m thankful to be part of writing communities that support and encourage each other. I’m praying that my proposals for books will be accepted and head to publication. I’m also praying for other authors who are writing and waiting for good news. 🙂
Yes! Praying God’s hand over every dream!!!
The ACFW writing community is awesome in its support of one another. Merry Christmas, Linda!
And to you and yours!
I love this, Linda. It’s just good to be kind. Merry Christmas! ❤️
Merry Christmas to you too!
I’m busy doing all of these with writer friends and writers I have yet to meet. Why wouldn’t I share a good thing?
I adore the ACFW community! Thank you for being so kind and supportive.
