ACFW Conference Prayer: For the families we leave at home
Romans 8:26-27–In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for the opportunity to attend the conference. We thank you for providing us with time to learn, fellowship, and renew our spirits. Taking the time from our busy schedules and leaving our families isn’t easy, but You are the Great Provider.
Sometimes it’s a challenge to make sure our families are cared for by responsible adults who will love them as we do. Help us to leave our anxieties behind and have faith to know You will care for our families in our stead. Guide them, protect them, and keep them in the palm of Your hand. Allow us to soak up the conference atmosphere and return home with renewed passion to write words that will glorify You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I’m leaving, Lord, upon a plane,
and this trip is meant for You.
No offense, but all the same,
I wish that it were through.
It’s not that I do not enjoy
the fellowship and learning,
but through it all I can’t deny
that for home I shall be yearning.
I’ve learned the hard-ought lesson
that time lost can’t be undone,
and no prizes here for guessing
where I most find love and fun.
You’ve lent me those who warm my heart,
and yeah, it hurts to be apart.
