Please join us in today’s prayer, written by a member of ACFW’s Forty Days of Prayer team.
Day 17 Focus: For all attending to have a servant’s heart toward those around them
Scripture: John 13:34-35 (NIV) — “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, of all the things You taught us through Your actions more than Your words, You showed us Your servant’s heart. You left the glories of heaven. You condensed the fullness of God into human flesh. You lived knowing Your purpose was to be the last sacrifice for the world. And then in the details … not just the washing of the disciples feet, but the continuous way You poured out Your energy to heal and restore and speak Truth and forgive and restore again and heal spiritually, to make whole, to build up, to speak Truth again because they (and I mean me) didn’t get it the first time. Oh, how You, the King of kings, show Your servant’s heart. No, it is not too much to ask that we respect the hotel staff and the airport drivers and the conference volunteers and everyone who seemingly is provided to serve us. Instead, we choose to serve them. To see them. To listen to them. To pray for them. Because by Your Spirit, we have Your energy to do what is right and good, and even that is Your gift to us, God who continually serves.
