What Did I Miss?

Last year for the first time, I was unable to attend ACFW. As a cofounder and cheerleader for this wonderful group, I felt as if I’d missed out on a major event in my life. Nothing beats spending a few days with fellow authors while renewing friendships and meeting the new members, singing God’s praises, honing my craft, sharing my joy of writing, and laughing until my sides ache.
This conference is unique. It is the only conference in the U.S. focused on Christian fiction. Yes, many great conferences offer wonderful workshops on writing fiction, but ACFW brings together top-published authors, editors from most of the well-known Christian publishers and agents with the total emphasis on Christian fiction.
It is a special event, packed full of writing-life-changing experiences as well as experiences that will heighten your spritual needs. Our keynote speakers have fired our spirits through the years—people like Francine Rivers, Liz Curtis Higgs, Karen Ball, and Robin Lee Hatcher — -and this year will be no different with the talents and humor of James Scott Bell. Besides his keynote, his workshops will “knock your socks off” with his amazing plotting classes.
I can’t want to see you at the conference this year in Dallas.

  1. Gail, I can’t wait! I got to take Jim Bell’s plotting class at the BRMCWC at Ridgecrest, and it’s one of the best workshops I’ve EVER taken! I came away with what I call a golden nugget. Each conference I’ve ever gone to, I’ve come away with one special nugget that has changed my writing. That’s another reason conferences are so great. And I happen to think ACFW’s is the very best!

  2. I MISSED you so last year. I look forward to seeing you this year.

I totally agree, there is no conference like ACFW.

  3. I so missed you last year, Gail! And you’re right…ACFW conference is a highlight of my year! I can’t wait to see everyone again!

  4. Last year was the first time I didn’t go to the whole conference, too (but I did go for the awards banquet, which was loads of fun).

I’m so excited about the conference that I keep forgetting there’s a whole month yet between now and September! I’ve already got my One-Sheet done and am trying to remember everything else I’d planned to have done before conference.

  5. I everyone – Thanks for letting me know I was missed and good for you Kaye, getting prepared ahead of time. Being prepared is the secret to being confident and ready to “know their socks off” with your book idea.

Thanks also to Angela who linked to my blog.

Can’t wait to see you all. Time is ticking and it won’t be long.
    Gail

  6. Thrilled to death to have JSB at this one! Just thrilled. It’s going to be awesome to hear him in person — and to be actually covering the conference for Afictionado! This will be fab!
