One of the best kept secrets resources at ACFW is this blog. I mean, where else can you go and find blogs on just about every aspect of writing and all in one place? Or go to be encouraged?

Just this May, I was feeling very discouraged. My sales on a general market book weren’t what I’d hoped for, I was worn out from meeting two deadlines, and I really just wanted to crawl back in bed and pull the covers over my head. But, I didn’t. I checked my email and there was the ACFW Blog with Cheryl Wyatt’s post in my inbox. Encouragement For the Weary and Disheartened.

Then in June, I started a novella that’s due in August. Now, it’d been years since I last wrote something short, and I thought I needed a refresher course or at least a few tips, never mind that I cut my writing teeth on short stories. Just that week, a post from the ACFW blog appeared in my inbox. Davalynn Spencer’s Five Lifesaving Steps to Writing a Novella, actually. I’m beginning to wonder if ACFW has a camera at my house.

In the past, sometimes I didn’t click on the blog email. Too busy, deadlines looming, but guess what? I have gone back and looked at the archives. Goodness, what a treasure trove of information and encouragement. So if you’ve missed any of the blogs, I want to challenge (simply because I’ve used the word encourage several times) you to go to the archives and see what you missed.

And if you’re in need of writing tips or encouragement, or you’re looking for a particular subject, go to the blog and enter the key words in the blog archive search engine. You will find exactly what you need.
